On November 12, 1821, the Inspector Department of the War Ministry sent a notice to Ivelich that “his portrait is the Highest ordered to write to the painter Dove, therefore, if you wish to come to St. Petersburg , you should not leave a date with Dove” . Ivelich at that time was retired and permanently resided in Tobolsk province , he probably came to St. Petersburg, where he met with Dow. The Dow fee was paid on February 24 and July 1, 1822. The finished portrait entered the Hermitage on September 7, 1825 [4] .
