Club career

Dani began his youth career as a team member in his hometown - Real Madrid (Betis). For three years he defended the colors of the club’s second team. On November 4, 2001, Dani made his debut for the main team of Betis in the match of the Spanish Championship - he replaced the second half of the home match against Real Madrid from Zaragoza (0: 1). Dani finished his first season in La Liga with five goals in 17 matches.

In April 2002, the Spaniard suffered a serious knee injury [2] , in August of the same year a relapse occurred [3] and therefore he had to miss most of the 2002-2003 season. Despite injuries, the Spaniard continued to benefit the team in important matches: in 2015, in the Spanish Cup final, he was remembered as the decisive goal in extra time against Osasuna [4] ; in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League 2005-06 in a home match against London Chelsea Betis won with Martin; On August 20, 2005, he also took part in the Camp Nou game in the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona (2: 1), but the Catalans won the trophy in the sum of two matches (the first game ended 3-0 in favor of the “blue- pomegranate ” [5] .

Despite the current contract with Betis until 2010, Dani joined the club from the same region of Spain Cádiz CF on loan. He signed a one-year contract with the opportunity for the club to redeem the rights to the player at the end of the season. However, even taking into account 10 goals of Dani for the club, Cádiz CF could not avoid relegation to the lower division. The next season, the footballer moved to another Segunda club - Elche . However, a stay in this club was hardly successful for Dani - throughout the season he received numerous injuries and noticeably lost his form. Returning to Betis in July, Dani underwent emergency knee surgery and returned to duty in January 2010. In the same 2010, he moved to the Spanish club "Recreativo" from Andalusia .

Dani ended his playing career in 2013 at the age of 32 years [6] .
