In July 2006, Steely Dan published a comic letter on his website stating that the title of Owen Wilson 's film “ He, Me, and His Friends ” was stolen from their song [1] . The film tells about house guest who overstays his welcome; the title character in the song is a slacker, he sleeps on the bed of his aunt. Owen Wilson defended himself in the same unflappable comic manner, stating: “I never heard the song 'Cousin Dupree' and I don’t even know who this gentleman Mr. Steely Dan is. I hope this helps clarify the situation and I can get back to working on my new film 'HEY 19' ” [2] .
