Serhat was announced the representative of San Marino on January 21, 2019, Serhat previously represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016. The song that Serhat performed in Tel Aviv was released on March 7th [2] . Subsequently, the song and video were released on the official Eurovision channel on YouTube [3] .
According to the rules of Eurovision, all countries, with the exception of the host country and the Big Five (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK), must be selected in one of two semifinals to participate in the final; The top ten countries from each semi-final reach the final. San Marino was placed in the first semi-final, which took place on May 14, 2019, and Serhat was the last to perform under number 17 [4] [5] .
