“Walking in the Air” is a single from 1999 Finnish metal band Nightwish from the Oceanborn album. It is a cover version of the popular song of the same name written by composer for the English short animated television movie "The Snowman ", shot on the eponymous children's book by (1978) and traditionally shown on television in the UK on Christmas Eve .
