Remezian vicarism is the titular vicarism of the Serbian Orthodox Church . Remesian bishops serve as vicars and assistants to the Serbian patriarch.
History
In the period from 366 to 614 in the year in the ancient city of there was a bishop's department. The most famous bishop who lived in it was Saint Nikita Remesiansky [1] . The former Remesian is now located on the territory of the Diocese of Nis [2] .
On May 26, 2011, by the decision of the next Council of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Kovilsky Monastery Andrei (Chilerdzic) was elected Bishop of Remezian [3] . On May 24, 2014, by the decision of the Council of Bishops, he was appointed to the Austrian-Swiss Diocese [4] . On May 9, 2018, the Council of Bishops elected Archimandrite Stephen (Sharich) , Rector of the Church of St. Sava, Bishop of Remezian. [5]
