Biography
Born on November 8, 1807; representative of the Moscow bourgeois merchant family of Korolev. His father, Leonty Kirillovich (1793–1850) [1] , who owned leather workshops and traded leather goods, eventually received the title of merchant of the 1st guild and became an honorary citizen of Moscow . In the family of Leonty Korolev was born six sons and two daughters.
In the 1840s, the Queen's Brothers trading house was established in Moscow, with both his father, Leonty Kirillovich, and his two sons, Mikhail and Ivan, being co-owners of it. After the death of his father, Mikhail developed the business, increasing production, and soon headed the leather-shoe company Korolev M. L. and the Brothers. It was presented in the Moscow Merchant Board. In addition to his industrial and commercial, he was engaged in charitable activities - was the trustee of St. Andrew's almshouse - one of the largest such institutions in Moscow . Also, Mikhail Leontievich was elected from the merchants as trustee of the Meshchansky Moscow Schools (1859–1961), was the first member of the Orphan's Court (1855–1858). Being engaged in public activity, he was a member of the Moscow City Statistical Committee (since 1863) and a member of the Moscow Commercial Court. Having won the election of the Moscow head of the manufacturer G. I. Khludov from the family of Russian businessmen Khludovs [2] , from January 1, 1861 to April 10, 1863, he was the Moscow mayor.
M. L. Korolev became the first Moscow merchant, whose house (on Bolshaya Ordynka Street , 38), on December 4, 1862, was visited by Emperor Alexander II and his wife Maria Alexandrovna [3] , which was reflected in the painting of that time. [four]
He died in Moscow on January 17, 1878 (according to other sources in 1876) and was buried at the Danilovsky cemetery of the city.
He was awarded orders and medals of the Russian Empire.
Family
His wife is Tatiana Andreevna (1809–?), Children: Natalya (1832–1910), Anna (1835–?), Alexandra (1839–?). After the death of M. L. Korolev, his case was inherited by his daughter, Natalya Mikhailovna Andreeva (1832–1910). [five]
Mikhail Leontievich Korolev was the grandfather of Yekaterina Alekseevny Andreeva-Balmont . [6]
