Geographical position
The city is located in the northern part of the governorate, on the right bank of the Nile , at a distance of approximately 31 kilometers northeast (NNE) from Aswan , the provincial capital. The absolute height is 89 meters above sea level [2] .
Demographics

Transport
The nearest civilian is in Aswan. To the east of Darau is the eponymous Air Force base of Egypt [2] .
