The winner of the side competition of the international tournament in Nottingham (1936).

In 1939 he was included in the national team of Ireland to participate in the Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires , but could not go to Argentina due to a sharp deterioration in health status. The obituary is dated October 9, 1939. [1]
