Budennovskaya TPP ( Budennovskaya PGU-TPP ) is a combined - cycle thermal power plant located in the town of Budennovsk, Stavropol Territory of Russia . One of the newest thermal power plants in Russia (commissioned in 2015). The owner of the station is OOO LUKOIL-Stavropolenergo (part of the LUKOIL group) [1] .

Station Construction
Budennovskaya TPP is a combined-cycle power plant with a combined generation of electricity and heat (in the form of hot water and steam for industrial purposes). The installed capacity of the power plant is 153 MW , the heat output is 115.2 Gcal / h . The main fuel is dry stripped gas (the product of processing of associated petroleum gas from the Caspian fields), the reserve gas is natural gas [1] [2] [3] .
The main generating equipment of the station is arranged in one power unit according to the double unit principle (two gas turbines with waste heat boilers per steam turbine ). The equipment includes two Trent 60 WLE gas turbines with turbine generators BDAX71-340ER, two horizontal steam heat recovery boilers (with afterburning) E-69.8 / 21.2-4.6 / 0.6-440 / 221D (PC- 93) and SST-400 steam turbine with AMS 1250 LK 4L BS turbine generator. Gas turbines are manufactured by Rolls-Royce (UK), gas turbine generators by BRUSH (Great Britain), steam turbines by Siemens (Germany), turbine generators by ABB (Switzerland), heat recovery boilers by POD Podolsky Machine-Building Plant . The cooling system is built using a dry fan cooling tower . The station is highly efficient, design fuel consumption is 280.8 g / kWh [4] .
Electricity is supplied to the power system from a 110 kV switchgear gas - insulated switchgear (GIS) via the following power lines : [4] [5]
- 110 kV overhead line Budennovskaya TPP - Substation Budennovsk;
- 110 kV overhead line Budennovskaya TPP - Substation Pokoinaya;
- 110 kV overhead line Budennovskaya TPP - GLP-2;
- 110 kV overhead line Budennovskaya TPP - GLP-3;
- 110 kV overhead line Budennovskaya TPP - Substation Prikumsk.
Economic value
The main task of the Budennovskaya TPP is to provide electricity, high-pressure steam and hot water to the Stavrolen petrochemical plant (also part of the LUKOIL group), as well as to the enterprises of the emerging Budennovsk regional industrial park. LLC Stavrolen is one of the leading Russian producers of polyethylene and polypropylene , the annual production volume is more than 300 thousand tons of polyethylene, 120 thousand tons of polypropylene, 80 thousand tons of benzene , 50 thousand tons of vinyl acetate . The Budennovskaya TPP site adjoins the Stavrolen site, which allows to achieve a synergistic effect - the power plant uses dry stripped gas as a fuel (a product of the associated petroleum gas processing plant) and sells the company not only electricity but also heat, which increases the efficiency of fuel use. The Budennovskaya TPP also supplies electricity to the power system of the Stavropol Territory, improving the regime-balance situation in the power system [4] [6] [7] [8] .
History of construction and operation
The construction of Budennovskaya CHP was carried out in accordance with the power supply agreement (CDA) concluded with South Generating Company - TGK-8 (later divided into several companies) in 2010, while the electric power of the station was determined to be 135 MW thermal - 58 Gcal / hour [9] . The construction of the station was started in March 2013, the organizer of the construction is LUKOIL-Energoengineering LLC, the general contractor is the company Synergic Projects. The station was commissioned on March 1, 2015 (the solemn launch ceremony was held on June 25, 2015), while using the equipment capacity reserves, it was possible to significantly increase both the electrical and thermal capacity of the station compared to the original project. Investment in the project is estimated at 7.7 billion rubles. In 2016, the station was switched from the use of natural gas to dry stripped gas (natural gas remained as a reserve fuel) [10] [11] .
