He was selected in the NBA Draft of 2019 in the 1st round under the 4th number by the Los Angeles Lakers Club. Plays as a light forward . High School
Hunter went to Friends Central School (Winnwood, PA ). Having shown himself to be excellent at the school level, Hunter was named a 4-star rookie, 72nd rookie and 14th best lightweight striker in the class of schoolchildren in 2016. [one]
On September 12, 2015, De'Andre Hunter entered the University of Virginia with offers from the University of North Carolina and the University of Notre Dame . [2]
College
During his first season at Virginia, Hunter scored double-digit numbers in the Points box 16 times, including 11 games inside the conference. At the end of the match against Louisville, Hunter made a decisive three-point shot with a siren, which brought Virginia a victory. [3] Hunter broke his wrist during the 2018 ACC postseason tournament and was unable to participate in the 2018 NCAA tournament . [4] Without De'Andre, his team lost to the 16th seeded, a team from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. After this season, Hunter joined the rookie team of the ACC conference and received the title of best sixth. [5] In his first season, Hunter averaged 9.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. De'Andre later said that despite rumors of his nomination for the 2018 NBA draft , he remains in Virginia for another year. [6]
In the second season, Hunter averaged 15.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. For the second year in a row, Virginia is the first seeder in the 2019 NCAA Tournament . The University of Virginia team reached the finals, where 27 points and 9 rebounds by De'Andre Hunter helped her defeat the Texas Tech University team with a score of 85-77.
During the second season at college, Hunter expressed a desire to run for the 2019 NBA Draft, where he was predicted to pick in the 1st round. [7]
