De'Andre James Hunter ( born De 2Andre James Hunter ; born December 2, 1997 in Philadelphia , PA , USA ) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Atlanta Hawks team at the National Basketball Association . He was selected in the NBA Draft of 2019 in the 1st round under the 4th number by the Los Angeles Lakers Club. Plays as a light forward . At the student level, he played for the Virginia Cavaliers University team.

High School

Hunter went to Friends Central School (Winnwood, PA ). Having shown himself to be excellent at the school level, Hunter was named a 4-star rookie, 72nd rookie and 14th best lightweight striker in the class of schoolchildren in 2016. [one]

On September 12, 2015, De'Andre Hunter entered the University of Virginia with offers from the University of North Carolina and the University of Notre Dame . [2]

During his first season at Virginia, Hunter scored double-digit numbers in the Points box 16 times, including 11 games inside the conference.
