Edwin O'Neill Williams (January 18, 1935 - April 11, 2015) is an American ornithologist . Doctor of Science (since 1964, the dissertation The Behavior of Bicolored Antbirds was published as a monograph).

Biography
Born in Alabama, raised on a farm [1] .
From an early age became interested in birds. Williams' first ornithological article was published when the author was only 14. He received a degree from Louisiana University [1] [2] . Since 1982, he received a position and taught in Brazil.
Since 2005, retired. Died in Sao Paulo .
Brazilian ornithologists named a new bird species Willisornis in honor of Williams.
