Biography
He studied at the Warsaw Gymnasium, the Warsaw School of Art (graduated in 1851), an autonomous student of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1852β1855). Passed the final exam with graduates of the practical class of the Construction School with the permission of the chief superintendent of communications and public buildings).
He was recognized as "appointed to academics" (1856). Elected to academicians (1857). [one]
Architect engineer (1871, certified by the Council of the Construction School).
Work manager (provincial secretary) in the Pskov provincial construction and road committee (1855); served in the Main Society of Russian Railways and the TSK Ministry of the Interior (since 1871). The provincial engineer in Minsk (1883β1885), Saratov (1885β1890), Kharkov (1890β1908).
Full member of the Imperial Russian Technical Society, St. Petersburg Society of Architects ; Society of Engineers in London. A member of charitable and scientific societies in Pskov, Saratov and Kharkov.
Awards : the Big Gold Medal of the Moscow Polytechnic Exhibition (1872).
Major works : residential building and repair depot of the Nikolaev Railway (Petersburg, 1870s), railway bridge on the Novotorzhskaya railway across the r. The lair (1871β1882), the house of Dr. Lunts (Minsk, 1884β1885), the Stock Exchange building (Saratov, end of the 1880s), P. Maltsevβs mansion (Balakovo, Saratov Province, the end of the 1880s). He built various railway structures (1850β1870), rebuilt and reconstructed buildings in Minsk, Saratov, Kharkov (1880β1900s), built several apartment buildings in St. Petersburg (1870s).
