Biography
Lawyer by education. In 1839 he was elected a member, and in 1845 - president of the lower house of the Saxon Landtag . He conducted an active campaign for the modernization of the judicial system of the kingdom of Saxony .
During the Revolution of 1848-1849 in Germany , after the resignation of Prime Minister Julius Traugott von Könneritz , the head of the government of the Kingdom of Saxony was appointed on March 16, 1848, and at the same time became Minister of Justice. Due to discrepancies with the radical part of the lower house of the Saxon Landtag, he resigned and resigned.
In 1849-1850 he was again elected a member of the Parliament of Saxony. In 1850 he headed the administration of Plauen .
In 1867 - Member of the Constituent Reichstag (North German Union) from Saxony.
