“Señorita” (from the English - “Madam”) is the song of Canadian singer Sean Mendes and American- Cuban singer Camila Cabello , released on June 21, 2019 via Island Records label [2] . The songwriters Mendes, Cabello, Charli XCX , Ali Tamposi , Jack Patterson from Clean Bandit produced the single Benny Blanco , Cashmere Cat and Watt [3] . This is the second collaborative record by Mendes and Cabello after the single “ I Know What You Did Last Summer ” in 2015.

History

Both Mendes and Cabello hinted for the first time at a new collaboration in December 2018 [4] . They started reporting this project on social networks in June 2019 [5] , each of which shared a 20-second video teaser [6] . They uploaded teasers of the song’s music video to their social media accounts on June 19, 2019 [7] [8] . Mendes confirmed that it will be a new single later that day, along with its release date and decoration [9] . The single's official release was on June 21, 2019 [2] .

Music video

The official video of the song was first shown on the YouTube channel on June 21, 2019. In a video shot in Los Angeles, Mendes and Cabello travel around the city. The video includes clips of the duet in the hotel room, in the diner where the character Cabello works, dancing at a party [10] .

Commercial Success

The song topped the charts of many countries of the world, including the Czech Republic , Finland , Greece , Hungary , Ireland , Malaysia , the Netherlands , New Zealand , Norway , Slovakia , Sweden , Switzerland , and was second in Australia , Canada , Denmark, Estonia , Germany , UK and USA .
