He rebuilt part of the Quarinhengian arcades, overlooking the Fontanka rather tactfully. Great-grandfather, according to the stories of my grandmother, was the most charming man she met in life. He built a little, more engaged in interiors. His passion was the creation of a home puppet theater. For many years he spent on the creation of this theater. The theater was a copy of the Mariinsky Opera. The whole interior and the stage with decorations and the famous Golovin's curtain were recreated. Figures of all singers were fashioned and equipped with appropriate costumes. He gave performances with his children, who helped to turn the figures to the sound of the phonograph which had just appeared then with the recordings of famous operas. He was presented and puppet Shalyapin. Fyodor Ivanovich himself often came to laugh at these imitations, where his grandmother met him. Famous artists also went to these performances: Dobuzhinsky, Golovin, Sudeikin, Kramskoy, with whose daughter the grandmother was friends before her departure abroad. Immediately after the revolution, everyone ate rats, and Nikolai Aleksandrovich himself, who was selling some toys on the market trying to earn a living, died of starvation in 1918.
