George Ogbeide ( born George Ogbeide ; born , ) is a Nigerian athlete who specializes in long jump and short distance running . He played for the Nigeria athletics team in the early 1990s, champion of the All-African Games, silver medalist of the Summer Universiade, participant of the World Cup in Tokyo .

Biography
George Ogbeide was born on August 4, 1968 in Lagos , Nigeria .
In 1986, he went to study in the USA, enrolling at the University of Idah , then transferred to the University of Washington . During his studies, he was a member of university athletics teams, repeatedly participated in various student competitions, including winning the championships of the National University Sports Association .
The greatest success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1991 season, when he joined the main team of the Nigerian national team and spoke at several major competitions. So, he visited the summer Universiade in Sheffield , from where he brought the silver dignity award won in the long jump - in the final he lost only to the American Alan Turner. In the same discipline, he won the All-African Games in Cairo . He participated in the World Championships in Tokyo , where he took the thirteenth place in long jump and the fourth place in the relay 4 × 100 meters - together with Olapade Adeniken , Victor Omagbemi and Davidson Ezinva . In addition, this season, at a competition in the German Cottbus, he set his personal record in long jump, showing a result of 8.24 meters - thus becoming the fourth among compatriots in this discipline after Yusuf Alli (8.27 m), Charlton Ehisuen (8 , 26 m indoors) and Paul Emordi (8.25 m).
In 1993, he graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration [1] .
