Named as the nearest street to the Moscow River , running parallel to its shore.
History
The street appeared in the first half of the XVII century as a result of the development of Posad. In 1784, as a result of the reconstruction of the city according to the "regular" plan, the street was straightened. At the beginning of the street were breweries and wine depots.
