Geography
The village is located in the central part of the Altai Territory, within the steppe zone of the Pre-Altai Plain , on the left bank of the Porozikhi River, at a distance of about 36 kilometers (in a straight line) east-southeast (ESE) from the village of Shipunovo , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 164 meters above sea level [2] .
The climate is characterized as continental. The average air temperature in winter is in the range between −15 and −10 ° C, in summer it is in the range between 15 and 20 ° C. The average rainfall in winter is 187 mm, in summer - 273 mm. [3]
History
It was founded in 1726. According to 1926, there were 236 households and 1326 people lived (mostly Russians). There was a first-level school and a consumer society shop. Administratively, the village was the center of the Chupinsky Village Council of the Charyshsky District of the Rubtsovsky District of the Siberian Territory [4] .
