April Fools Day social network was seen by a number of media . An article was published in Rosbalt : “The VKontakte network switched to the pre-revolutionary language on April 1” ^[1] . At the same time, before changing the language, users were notified that “the servers are resting” ^[2] . It is noted that this joke was borrowed from Bashorg ^[3] . At the same time, the inscription was shown on the social network:

Consequences

“Pre-revolutionary language” later remained as a separate language, so that any user can switch to it if desired. In addition, there is also the "Soviet language" ^[4] .

Similar celebrations were held in the future. So, Russian Wikipedia in 2019 also switched to pre-revolutionary spelling ^[5] .
