Biography

Born on January 4, 1924 in the village of Kipun, Sharkan district, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.

In 1940 he entered the factory school , graduating from which in 1942, was drafted into the army.

In the Red Army from August 15, 1942, he was sent to the 3rd Leningrad Military Infantry School, at that time stationed in evacuation in Votkinsk. A year later, he was quickly released as a junior lieutenant: in August, the school was sent to the Kursk Bulge on alert alert.

At the front since May 1943. In July he was wounded in the arm, in November he was seriously wounded. After the hospital he returned to the front.

Since 1944 - lieutenant, commander of the third platoon of the first company of the 102nd Infantry Regiment of the 41st Infantry Division .

In April-May 1944 he skillfully led the platoon, was awarded the first Order of the Red Star for the fact that:

April 29, 1944 took over command of the company and repelled 5 fierce German attacks. In a battle, he personally destroyed 6 Germans with machine gun fire and grenades.

In the summer of 1944, during the offensive of the 1st Belorussian Front in Poland, he repeatedly proved himself to be a skilled commander:

On August 15, 1944, commanding a platoon, he promptly knocked out the Germans from their positions, while capturing trophies, in that battle he personally killed two Germans.

He received the order of Alexander Nevsky for the fact that on August 20, 1944, during the Bagration operation, when expanding the bridgehead on the banks of the Vistula River, when the company commander was out of order, he " took command and took a bold cast " knocked out the Germans from an occupied Polish village, destroying the enemy infantry before platoon, capturing two guns and six machine guns.

After the war

Demobilized in 1946, he returned to Sharkan. After graduating from agricultural courses, he worked on the Ideal collective farm as the foreman of the field crop brigade, and was the second secretary of the Sharkan district committee of the Komsomol.

He died in 1970, was buried in the Sharkan cemetery.

The name in the name of I.G. Kazakov is a street in the native village of Kipun.
