Earth Mantis [1] ( Geomantis larvoides ) is one of two species of small mantises from the Mediterranean genus Geomantis . Distributed in southern Europe and North Africa .

A small wingless mantis that is found in dry grassy vegetation. The body of the mantis is buffy. Pronotum elongated, more than 2 times as long as its own width. The eyes are spherical, slightly protruding above the surface of the head [2] . Forelegs marble brown, fore coxae with small spines. The edges of the abdomen are parallel, the segments are wider than long, bear longitudinal keels [3] and.

The body length of the female is 2–2.5 cm, the males are slightly smaller - 1.8–2.2 cm [3] .

First described in Spain, found in Portugal, in the south of France, in Italy, Croatia, Albania [4] , Greece, Turkey [5] [6] , Morocco. The presence of the species in Algeria is in doubt [3] .
