Biography
On June 13, 1941, as socially alien elements, the Krushkal family was expelled from Tartu to a settlement in Narym [1] , father Michel-Leib Moiseevich Krushkal was transferred to a camp , and Samil Krushkal, after his release with his mother, Enta Moiseevna Krushkal and sisters, settled in Tomsk [2 ] [3] [4] [5] . He graduated from Tomsk State University in 1961.
The dissertation of the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences on the subject “Some questions of the theory of quasiconformal mappings of flat and spatial domains” was defended in 1964 under the direction of Pavel Belinsky , his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Extreme problems of the theory of quasiconformal mappings and the problem of modules of Riemann surfaces” - in 1969. Senior Researcher, Siberian Branch of the Institute of Mathematics, Academy of Sciences of the USSR (since 1986, Leading Researcher). Professor of Novosibirsk State University (1972-1991) [6] [7] .
Among the students are doctors of physical and mathematical sciences Mikhail Kapovich , Boris Apanasov , Alexander Mednykh , Victor Chueshev [8] [9] .
After emigrating to Israel in 1991, he worked at Bar-Ilan University [10] [11] [12] .
His research interests included and geometry, Klein groups , hyperbolic geometry , geometric group theory , spaces of nonpositive curvature .
