S&M is a recording of the band's concert performance in conjunction with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in 1999 . The group played songs from all their albums that were released at that time (except for the first, Kill'em All 1983) starting from Ride the Lightning (1984) and ending with ReLoad (1997) , as well as two new songs at that time - “- Human "And" No Leaf Clover ", and the composition" The Ecstasy of Gold "( Ennio Morricone ) performed the first number by the orchestra.
Composer Michael Kamen was a conductor , and also wrote parts of symphonic instruments.

DVD Version
Metallica also filmed and released a concert on DVD and VHS . The concert was directed by Wayne Isham. The VHS version contains only the concert recording, and the DVD version, which includes two discs, also includes a 41-minute concert recording, two clips of “ No Leaf Clover ” for four songs (“Of Wolf And Man” , “Fuel”, “Sad But True” and “Enter Sandman”) the DVD feature “multi-angle” is available, that is, watching the recording of these songs, you can watch each of the members of the group separately.
