History
The construction of the plant was caused by an acute shortage of ceramic building materials in the BSSR and began in 1981. The site for the plant was chosen near the large Haidukovka clay deposit. In 1984 and 1985, two workshops with French and Italian equipment were put into operation. The plant was designed to produce 135 million pieces of conditional bricks (80% hollow and 20% full-bodied). In 1990, the plant was transformed into a leased enterprise, in 1997 - into an open joint-stock company. In 2000, the capacity of the equipment was reduced due to changes in market conditions, and modernization began in the early 2000s [1] . In 2004, the plant mastered the production of porous ceramics, becoming its first manufacturer in the Republic of Belarus. Porous brick is massively used in construction; in particular, it was used for the construction of the Minsk Arena and the Chizhovka Arena in Minsk [2] .
Current State
In 2017, the company produced 66.5 million standard bricks of various types of wall materials for 16.5 million rubles (about $ 8 million), including [1] :
- 30 million porous blocks;
- 20.3 million standard bricks full-bodied;
- 16.2 million conventional hollow bricks.
In 2016, 80.3% of the products were sold in the domestic market, in 2017 - 93% [1] .
In Radoshkovichi, not far from the plant, Belkhudozhkeramika OJSC is located, which is engaged in the manufacture of ceramic dishes and souvenirs.
