Design

The wind farm project was prepared by NovaVind JSC, a division of Rosatom , engaged in renewable energy projects. In July 2018, the Committee of the Republic of Adygea for Architecture and Urban Planning issued a permit for the construction of a wind farm and substation of 220 kV. The total construction area was provided in the amount of 16.4 hectares. [2]

The wind farm will operate 60 wind generators with a capacity of 2.5 MW each, located on towers with a height of 75 to 135 m. [3]

The project is designed to reduce the energy shortage of the Republic of Adygea: “This is a very significant project for us. Its implementation will help reduce the region’s energy deficit - now in the republic only 10% of the required amount of electricity is produced. The launch of the wind farm will make the operation of the energy system more stable, will provide additional capacity for the growing sectors of the economy of the republic, and will allow the launch of new investment projects, ”said Adygea Prime Minister Alexander Narolin. [four]

It is planned that on average per year the Adygea wind farm will be able to produce 355 GW · h / year [5] ; this capacity should be enough to fully ensure the capital of Adygea Maykop. In order to transfer energy to Maykop from the wind farm to Armavir-Tsentralnaya air line in 2018, construction of a 15-km power transmission line was started.

The total cost of 60 wind generators is about 20 billion rubles. [6] The payback period of the project will be about 10 years.

According to the initial plans, the commissioning of the wind farm was to take place in the second quarter of 2019.

Construction History

In October 2018, Adygea was hit hard by heavy rains that flooded the construction site. Construction work at the Adygea wind farm was forced to suspend until the aftermath of the flood, and the general dates for putting the wind farm into operation moved to August-September 2019. [7]

In June 2019, the installation of the first of 60 wind turbines was completed. Installation was carried out with the participation of 4 cranes, including a large crane with a lifting capacity of up to 500 tons, with the participation of 35 specialists. [eight]

Wind Turbine Construction

The wind turbine consists of a tower, including 8 modular sections, with a total height of 149 m. The rotor diameter is 100 m; the blades are made of composite materials. The first batches of blades were ordered in India, in the future it is planned to receive components from the plant in Volgodonsk on the basis of Atommash, which NovaVind JSC is also opening. Investments in the plant amounted to 5 billion rubles, the level of production localization was declared at 65%. [9] The installation is capable of operating at wind forces up to 25 m / s.
