Geography
The village of Lipovka is located in the south-west of the region, 4.5 km east of the city of Mamonov , on the left bank of the river called Vitushka . 2.5 km south of the village runs the Russian-Polish border.
History
The modern village of Lipovka consisted of three former German settlements: 1) Grünwalde ( German Grünwalde ), 2) Gallingen ( German Gallingen ) - until 1820 Peterkheim, 3) Rosokken ( German German Rosocken ) - now a depopulated part on the territory of Bagrationovsky city counties .
Grunwalde was founded on the south bank of the Lavta River (now the Vitushka River), 1 km southeast of the Prussian sanctuary, which the Teutons called Latainerberg. To this day, a six-meter embankment wall has been preserved, enclosing the site of the sanctuary from the east. The settlement was first mentioned in documentary sources in 1437. On June 11, 1874, the village was included in the newly formed county (Amtsbezirk) Waltersdorf (now in Poland).
In 1910, 229 people lived in Grunwald , 232 people in 1933, 228 people in 1939.
The village of Peterkheim was first mentioned in 1429, from 1455 - under the name Peterken, until 1785 it was renamed Peterkheim, after 1820 the village was known as Gallingen . In 1874, it was included in the district of Deutsch Tirau (the disappeared village of Ivantsovo), in 1910 32 people lived in it.
On September 30, 1928, the villages of Gallingen , Malendorf (now defunct) and Rozokken were merged into a new rural community.
In 1933, the population of Gallingen was 150 inhabitants, in 1939 - 163 inhabitants.
Rozuken was first mentioned in 1412, until 1785 it became known as Rozokken . In 1874, the settlement became part of the county of Deutsch Tirau. In 1910, 37 people lived in Rozokken . September 30, 1928 Rozokken became part of the rural community of Gallingen.
Grunwalde belonged to the church parish of Heiligenbajl, Gallingen and Rozokken - to the parish of Deutsch Tirau.
During the Second World War, settlements were the site of fierce battles between the Red Army and Nazi troops , repeatedly passed from hand to hand.
On March 19, 1945, the village of Grunwalde was taken by Soviet troops .
Following the Second World War, the northern part of East Prussia (now the Kaliningrad Region ) was transferred to the USSR , including the settlements of Grunwalde , Gallingen , Rozokken , subsequently united in the village of Lipovka [2] .
