Floresta ( Spanish: Floresta ) is a small town and municipality in central Colombia , within the Boyaca department. It is part of the province of Tundama .

History
The settlement from which the city later grew was founded in 1810. The municipality of Florest was separated into a separate administrative unit in 1818.
Geographical position
The city is located in the northeast of the central part of the department, in the highlands of Eastern Cordillera , west of the Chikamocha River, approximately 55 kilometers northeast of the city of Tunja , the administrative center of the department. The absolute height is 2503 meters above sea level [1] .
The municipality of Florest borders in the north with the territory of the municipality of Serins , in the northeast - with the municipality of Betheitiva , in the east - with the municipalities of Busbansa and Corrales , in the south - with the municipality of Nobsa , in the west - with the municipality of Santa Rosa de Viterbo . The area of the municipality is 85 km² [2] .
Population
According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia, the total population of the city and municipality in 2015 was 4,523 people [3] . The dynamics of the population of the municipality by years:

According to the 2005 census, men made up 47.2% of the population of Floresti, women - 52.8%, respectively. Racially, the entire population of the city was white and mestizo [4] . The literacy rate of the entire population was 87.3%.
Economics
63% of the total number of urban and municipal enterprises are trade enterprises, 19.5% are industrial enterprises, 13% are service enterprises, 4.5% are enterprises of other sectors of the economy [4] .
