Short Description
MCs were formed in 1984 as a result of a split from the Left Socialists party. It has an impact mainly among students.
In 1991, as a result of a bomb explosion in the MS office, one person was killed; a trace of ultra-right groups was suspected of a shocking attack , but the crime remained unrevealed by the police.
After the advent of the ATTAC in Denmark in the wake of the half-popular nature of the alternative globalist movement , the International Socialists began to work with this organization (however, then the collaboration ceased). Actively opposing the war in Iraq , the MS, following the leading party of the International Socialist Trend - the British Socialist Workers Party - expressed unconditional, but exclusively tactical support to various groups of Iraqi resistance.
In March 2006, the MC Congress decided to collectively join the Red-Green Coalition , preserving its own organizational structure. Publishes the monthly newspaper Socialistisk Arbejderavis.
