Mae Koime ( born Mae Koime ; born , ) is a Papuan athlete , a specialist in short-distance running . She played for the Papua New Guinea athletics team throughout the 2000s, a multiple champion of the Oceania and the Pacific Games, a participant in two summer Olympic Games.

Biography
May Koyme was born December 14, 1983 in the city of Kerema , Gulf Province, Papua New Guinea .
The first serious success at the adult international level was in the 2001 season, when she entered the main squad of the Papuan national team and visited the South Pacific mini-games in Middlegate, from where she brought three silver medals won in various sprint disciplines.
In 2002, in the 400 meters hurdles, she won the Oceania Championships in Christchurch, noted her performance at the World Junior Championships in Kingston , where she took 21st place in the 100-meter distance.
At the 2003 South Pacific Games in Suva, she climbed the podium three times: she received bronze in the 400 meters hurdles and two silver medals in the relay races 4 × 100 meters and 4 × 400 meters. Started at the World Championships in Saint-Denis , but was here far from being among the winners.
In 2004, she won the Oceania Championships in Townsville at distances of 100 and 200 meters. Thanks to a series of successful performances, she won the right to defend the country's honor at the Athens Summer Olympics - at the preliminary stage she covered the 100-meter distance in exactly 12 seconds, thereby setting the national record of Papua New Guinea. However, this result was not enough to continue the struggle for medals [2] .
At the 2005 South Pacific Games in Koror, Koim won four gold medals and one silver, while at the world championship in Helsinki she could not get into the number of winners.
In 2006, she won two gold and two silver medals at the Oceania Championships in Apia, and performed at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne .
In 2007, she added to her track record two gold and two silver awards received at the Pacific Games in Apia. Started at the world championship in Osaka .
Being one of the leaders of the Papuan national team, it successfully passed the selection for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing - again participated in the women 's 100m race program, this time showed a time of 11.68 seconds and took the final 44th place in the qualification phase.
After the Beijing Olympics, May Koyme for some time remained in the athletics team of Papua New Guinea and continued to take part in major international competitions. So, in 2010, she performed at the Oceania Championship in Cairns, where she won a gold medal in the standings of the relay 4 × 100 meters [3] .
