Biography
Wilhelmina grew up in Berlin and became an actress in Gotha . In 1857, she married a lawyer in Freiburg im Breisgau . December 8, 1882 her husband passed away. After that, the writer lived in Oberammergau and Tutzing .
Writing
The most important novels and short stories were written by von Hillern in the 1860s and 1870s. One of them, Only a Girl , was translated by Annis Lee Wister into English .
Cultural Influence
The work of Die Geyer-Wally served as the basis for the libretto of the last and most successful opera of the Italian composer Alfredo Catalani Valley .
