Central City Stadium (Nikolaev)

The initiator of the construction of the stadium was the first secretary of the Zavodsky District Party Committee , Vladimir Vaslyaev . By that time, the Avangard stadium on the street. Chigrina morally and in size did not meet the requirements of the city. Almost no centralized funds were allocated for social facilities. It was decided to build a stadium by the forces and means of the city, for which the teams of enterprises, in addition to equipment and building materials, allocated people, mainly young people according to the schedule ^[1] .

The land allocated for the construction of a new stadium was occupied by a landfill. The stadium, the project of which was developed by the architects of Giprograd , headed by A.K. Marochinsky, was built for three years. Engineers and workers of the SU-11, SU-621, Zelenstroy and Nikolayevspetsstroy trusts participated in its construction.

The stadium opened on September 26, 1965 under the name "Shipbuilder". The stadium was timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of Labor Glory for Shipbuilders ^[2] . The first opening match was the match between Sudostroitel and Moscow CSKA , specially invited to the celebration. The score of the match is 0: 0.

In 2002, the city ​​council approved a program for the reconstruction of the stadium, identified priority facilities for restoration.

In the 2004/05 season, the eyes of the FFU attracted the forty-year-old Nikolaev stadium. The arena ceased to meet the requirements of the federation and for this reason there was a possibility of transferring IFC “Nikolaev” to the second league. However, this season the team left the first league due to their own sports failure. A year later, the same problem arose for the second league triumph. As a result of certification of clubs for the 2006/07 season, the first vice-president of FFU, the chairman of the certification commission, Sergei Storozhenko, made a proposal to ban the holding of IFC Nikolaev matches at the Central City Stadium. Due to the fact that in early July the reconstruction of the Central City Stadium began and it has written guarantees of the mayor Vladimir Chaika and IFC “Nikolaev” president Sergey Dergunov to conduct it in a fairly short time, Boris FFU vice president, head of the sports facilities department Boris Voskresensky made a proposal to allow the Nikolaev team to play in the main sports arena of the city ^[3] .

In 2007, reconstruction began ^[4] . The cost of reconstruction of the stadium is approximately 82 million hryvnia ^[5] . In 2012, all 16 thousand individual plastic seats were installed ^[6] . Reconstruction is still ongoing.
