In the Scribe Books 1585-87 It is referred to as the center of the Cunei Bay of Gdov County. [four]

It is known that until 1764 the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was burnt in the Kunest graveyard, which burned down with all the documents, but in the same year the landowner Ergolsky built the church of Peter and Paul, after which the inscription was left: “This church is in December. 26 day a day, burned out; it was again built that year by the efforts of the landowner Grigory Tishin, and the forest and money were collected from him for the iconostasis, image, church utensils. The sanctification of the temple was corrected by the alms of the willing minders, the diligence of the landowner Andrei Ergolsky, and this cross was painted with his own hand. ” Metric books have been available since 1810. In the middle of the XIX century there was a school in the priest’s apartment [5] .
