The body shape is round, diameter up to 1 micron. Propagated by division. Anaplasmas are common throughout the globe. They cause blood diseases ( anaplasmosis ). In red blood cells of cattle, Anaplasma marginale parasitizes, in sheep and goats ≈ Anaplasma ovis . Human granulocytic anaplasmosis causes Anaplasma phagocytophilum .
