Series Grand Prix on figure skating season 2019/2020

The Grand Prix series in figure skating season 2019/2020 is a set of annual commercial figure skating tournaments among the best skaters of the planet (rated by the ISU), which will be held from mid-October to early December 2019 . Athletes in the 6 stages of the series will compete in the categories of men's and women's single skating, pair skating and ice dancing. For their places they will be awarded points from 15 (for the first) to 3 (for the eighth). The top six athletes (pairs) will perform in the series finals. Also in August-October 2019, there will be stages of the junior Grand Prix ; Seven stages will be completed. The final will take place along with the main one.

Members

In the Grand Prix series in figure skating of the 2019–2020 season, skaters who have reached the age of 15 years on July 1, 2019 have the right to take part [1] .

Up to the Grand Prix competitions at each stage up to 12 singles are allowed for both men and women, up to 8 pairs in sports pairs and up to 10 in dance pairs.

To take part in the Grand Prix of the season, skaters had to earn at tournaments before the start of the series, at least, the following points:

Everyone can enter the junior Grand Prix, but according to quotas for each country, based on the previous World Junior Championships .

Adult Tournament

In the autumn of 2018, the ISU decided on the timing of the Grand Prix stages in the autumn of the following year. At the end of 2017, it was decided to hold the final this year in Turin, Italy . At the beginning of the summer of 2018, the ISU approved the cities where the Grand Prix stages will take place [2] .
