An ideologist (also an ideological leader [1] ) in the field of business ( English thought leader ) is a person or company who is recognized as an authority in a certain field [2] . Often speak at public events (conferences, webinars , etc.) outlining their views.
History
The Oxford English Dictionary as the first example .... names Henry Ward Beecher as "one of America's greatest ideological leaders." In 1876, the term was applied to Ralph Waldo Emerson [3]
In a 1990 article, the Wall Street Journal in the Marketing section used the term to refer to magazines such as Harper's [4] . .
