Wang Xiaobo (May 13, 1952 - April 11, 1997) is a Chinese writer and essayist. Spouse of Sociology Doctor Li Yinhe .

Biography
During the Cultural Revolution, he was sent to Yunnan by a young man. In 1978-1982 he studied at the Chinese People's University . Then in 1984-1988 he was in the USA and studied at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his degree. After returning to China, he taught at Beijing and China People's University. He died of a heart attack in Beijing .
He became the author of several novels, collections of short stories and essays , some of which were translated into English, French and Italian. In 1997, according to his story, the film East Palace, West Palace was shot.
