Description

Small short-winged beetles , body length from 2.8 to 3 mm. It differs from related species ( A. spadicea , A. arachnipes , A. irmgardis , A. orientalis, and A. fugax ) in the reddish-yellow bases of the antennae, mouth parts and legs, black-brown general body color, and orange elytra; seam and epipleura narrowly darkened. Pronotum transverse, head large (almost equal to pronotum width). Antennae 11-segmented. The front, middle and hind tarsi are 5-segmented (formula 5-5-5). The mandibular palpi consist of 4 segments (with the 5th pseudo-segment), and the labial palp consists of 3 segments (with the 4th pseudo-segment). The body is subparallel from the sides. Larvae are parasites of puparia flies (pass hypermetamorphosis ) [2] . The species was first described in 1954 by the Soviet and Armenian coleopterologist Stepan Mironovich Yablkov-Khnzoryan (1904-1996), and its valid status was confirmed during an audit conducted in 2000 by Kazakh entomologists Professor V. A. Kashcheev (1953-2012) [3 ] and M.K. Childebaev (Institute of Zoology, Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akademgorodok, Almaty , Kazakhstan ). It is included in the subgenus Rheochara (based on the large head and long legs) together with species A. spadicea, A. arachnipes, A. irmgardis, A. orientalis, and A. fugax [1] .
