Santa Rita ( Spanish: Santa Rita ) - a city in the north of Venezuela , in the state of Aragua . It is the administrative center of the municipality of Francisco Linares Alcantara .

History
On December 16, 1997, Santa Rita became the administrative center of the newly formed municipality of Francisco Linares Alcantara.
Geographical position
Santa Rita is located in the northwestern part of the state, on the eastern shore of Lake Valencia , mainly on the right bank of the River , southeast of the state administrative center of Maracay . The absolute height is 585 meters above sea level [1] .
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as tropical, with dry winters and rainy summers ( Aw in the Köppen climate classification ). The average annual rainfall is 929 mm. Most precipitation falls in August (174 mm). The average annual temperature is 25.1 ° C [2] .
Population
According to the National Institute of Statistics of Venezuela, the population of the city in 2013 was 91,753 people [3] .
Transport
On the northern outskirts of the city runs the national highway number 1 ( Spanish Troncal 1 ).
