Zalesye ( Ukrainian: Zalisya ) is a former village in Ukraine of the Chernobyl district (now Ivankovsky district ) of the Kiev region , deregistered due to the resettlement of residents as a result of the Chernobyl accident .

History
The time of occurrence is unknown.
According to the privilege of King Sigismund II Augustus in 1566 belonged to Zalessky. Then Jerzy Strusem was assigned and leased to Ivan Dyak. On June 6, 1594, Stefan Yanovich Zalessky demanded that this estate be returned to him and compensation for losses for his belongings at all times. In 1602, residents of Zalesye were robbed at a fair in Vinnitsa . In 1604, Bogushova Glebovsky sold part of the villages of Sidorovichi and Zalesye to Andrzej Surin. In 1617 Zalesye was inherited by the son of Stephen Zaleski Gordey.
In the XVIII century it became one of the centers of the city . In 1768 , Ivan Bondarenko was executed near Zalesye.
In 1887, 1155 people lived in the village, and in 1900 - already 1282 residents.

| Zalesye is a village, the center of the village council, located 3 km from the district center and 23 km from the railway station Yanov . The population is 3062 people. Settlements Zapolye, Ivanovka and Novoselki are subordinate to the Village Council. In the village is the central estate of the Druzhba collective farm, which has 5.3 thousand hectares of agricultural land, including 3.5 thousand hectares of arable land. For the selfless work of 35 collective farmers were awarded orders and medals of the USSR . Masters of high yields D.I. Palagecha and V.I. Kovchan were awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor . In Zalesye there is a secondary school, a house of culture, a library, and a hospital. 76 residents of Zalesye - participants of the Great Patriotic War - were awarded orders and medals of the USSR. Near Zalesye, a burial ground of the Zarubinets culture was found , and in Zapolye, the remains of a Neolithic settlement . |
After the Chernobyl accident, the residents of the village of Zalesye were relocated to the village of Novye Zalesie, Borodyansky district. Officially deregistered in 1999 . As of 2005, 5 self-settlers lived in the village. Before the accident, more than 3,000 residents lived in the village.
Zalesie is located at a distance of 600 m from Chernobyl .
Famous People
In Zalesye, the father of Russian politician Alexei Navalny and his cousin Marina Navalny born - Ukrainian philologist, public figure.
