Quedius levicollis (lat.) Is a species of short-winged beetles of the genus Quedius from the subfamily Staphylininae ( Staphylinidae ). Western Palaearctic , including Russia , the Middle East and North Africa [1] [2] [3] .

Description
Small beetles with shortened elytra and elongated body, length about 1 cm (10 to 15 mm). It differs from related species ( Quedius balticus , Quedius altaicus , Quedius subunicolor , Quedius meridiocarpathicus ) in relatively large sizes, dotted by the forehead. The median lobe of the aedeagus (dorsally) with a pair of lateral denticles, but without a pair of median denticles. The formula of the paws is 5-5-5. The head is round, narrower than the pronotum. The front of the body (head and pronotum) is shiny. The species was first described in 1832 . Included in the nominated subgenus Quedius s. str. (based on the whole anterior margin of the labrum) together with the species Q. altaicus, Q. subunicolor, Q. meridiocarpathicus and Q. balticus [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] .
