The earthquake was felt on the islands of Hokkaido and Honshu ( Japan ), in the prefectures: Aomori , Ishikawa , Iwate , Miyagi , Saitama , Akita , Chiba , Fukui , Fukushima , Gumma , Ibaraki , Kanagawa , Tokyo [3] . An earthquake was not felt in the settlements of Primorsky Krai [4] .

Tectonic conditions of the region
The territory of the Primorsky Territory is located in a seismically dangerous zone. The strength of recorded earthquakes reached 7 points with a repeatability of once every 50 years. The largest cities of the region - Vladivostok , Nakhodka , Artyom , Dalnegorsk , Arsenyev - are located in areas where an earthquake of up to 7 points is possible [5] .
Similar seismic events occurred in the Vladivostok region in 2002 and 1999. So, on June 28, 2002, an earthquake of magnitude 7.0 occurred in Primorye at 21.19 Moscow time. Its focus was at a depth of 564-570 kilometers, and on the surface it felt like an earthquake with a magnitude of 2 points. The same earthquake occurred in this area on April 8, 1999, when tremors of magnitude 7.0–7.2 were observed at a depth of 550 kilometers. An earthquake was felt in several cities of Primorye with a strength of up to three points. An earthquake with similar parameters was also observed in 1997, 1994, 1993, 1984, 1983, 1981, in the 1950s and 1970s [6] .
Consequences
The earthquake caused high-rise buildings to swing in the capital of China, Beijing, for a minute [7] [8] . As a result of the earthquake, no casualties and destruction were reported [3] [9] [10] [11] [6] [12] [13] .
