Career

As a child, John was a Celtic fan. He is a graduate of the Fort William Club. In August 1980, at the age of 16, McGinley made his debut for the first team in the Highland Football League match. Debut came to the match with the team " Elgin City ". After playing in New Zealand for about a year, he returned to Scotland and re-joined Nairn County. Later he went to England to the National Conference , advocating " Yeovil Town ". He returned to his homeland in 1988, in the team " Elgin City ", serving in the Highland League.

Then he returned to the English football league, first playing for Shrewsbury Town , and then for Bury [1] .
