Yang Yu ( wh. Ex . 杨雨 , pinyin : Yáng Yǔ ; born February 6, 1985 , Hangzhou , Zhejiang ) - Chinese swimmer , Olympic medalist , world champion. Yang became a member of the Chinese swimming team at the age of 14 and played for the Chinese team at the 2000 Summer Olympics .

Career
International debut at the 2000 Olympics
Jan first performed at a major international competition in 2000 at the World Championships in Athens , where she won 200 freestyle with a score of 1: 56.06. Later, she won the right to swim at the Sydney Olympics , where she took 17th place with 200 freestyle (2: 01.34).
2001–2002 World Aquatics Championships
In 2001, in Fukuoka, at the World Championships, Jan won a silver medal at the 200 m freestyle (1: 58.78), after the Australian Jiaan Rooney (1: 58.57). In the national Chinese games in 2001, she took 2nd place in 100 freestyle (54.94) and 200 freestyle (1: 58.71) distances.
In 2002, at the World Championships in Moscow , Jan took the gold in the 4x200 freestyle relay (7: 46.30, world record), silver in the 200 freestyle (1: 55.34, Asian record) and 200 butterfly (2:06 ,ten). She won gold in the 200 freestyle distance (1: 58.43), in the 4x100 freestyle relay (3: 40.95), in the 4x200 freestyle relay (7: 58.46) and silver in the 100 freestyle (55, 51) at the Asian Games of the Year in Busan .
2004 Olympic Games
Ian participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens . Where won won the silver medal in the Chinese relay team in the 4x200 freestyle relay 7: 55.97 (Asian record). Yang was also a member of the China Women's 4x100m freestyle relay. The Chinese team reached the final of this event, but finished in a pitiful 8th place.
2005–2006
Yang participated in the 2005 World Championships in Montreal , winning a bronze medal in the 200 m freestyle . At the National Games of China in 2005, it showed good results, winning 200 freestyle with a score of 1: 57.86, which was the second result of the season in the world. At the 2006 World Championships in Shanghai, she won gold at 200 freestyle (1: 54.94).
2007 World Championships
Yang Yu took part in the World Aquatics Championships in Melbourne , but didn’t perform well because of the high temperature, finishing 200m in freestyle in 18th place. She was also a member of the Chinese team in the 4x200 m freestyle relay (which almost got into the final, taking 9th place in the preliminary heat) and in the 4x100 m freestyle relay , which took the seventh place.
World Records
On January 18, 2004, she broke the world record for Susie O'Neill in the women's 200 butterfly games at the World Championships in Berlin, Germany, showing a time of 2: 04.04 [2] [3] .
At the World Aquatics Championship in Rome, Yang Yu, in the Chinese national team ( Zhu Qianwei , Liu Jing , Pan Jiaining ), won the gold medal and set a world record in the 4x200 m freestyle relay with a score of 7: 42.08 [4] [ 4] 5] .
