El Potrero ( Spanish: El Potrero ) - a village in the southeastern part of Mexico , in the state of Veracruz . It is part of the municipality of Akulzingo .

Geographical position
El Potrero is located in the west of the central part of the state, approximately 98 kilometers south-west (SSW) from the city of Jalapa Enriques , the state’s administrative center. The absolute height is 2075 meters above sea level [1] .
Population
According to data obtained during the official census of 2005, 1040 people (501 men and 539 women) lived in the village. There were 225 houses. According to the age range, the population was distributed as follows: 49.1% - residents under 18 years of age, 42.2% - between 18 and 59 years old and 8.7% - aged 60 years and older. The literacy rate among residents over 15 years old was 85.8% [2] .
According to the 2010 census, the population of El Potrero was 1269 people [3] . The dynamics of the population of the village by years:
