Earth’s anthem is a festive song or musical composition that praises, extols or elevates the planet Earth and its inhabitants, including flora and fauna .

History
On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the United Nations and at the request of its Secretary-General on October 24, 1971, a hymn was performed, the music of which was written by Pablo Casals , and the text was by poet W. H. Auden [1] [2] . The then UN Secretary General, U Thant, expressed hope that this anthem would become the de facto anthem of the UN over time, but this did not happen.
The call for the creation of an official Earth anthem was made in Paris by the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO in January 2014 [3] .

Songs of the Earth
The official anthem of the Earth has not yet been written. There are a number of songs about the planet, reflecting the growing planetary consciousness of mankind, which can be considered as anthems of the Earth, or as candidates for such. Among them:
- "Anthem of the world" [5] .
- “Anthem of the Earth” by The Turtles ensemble (later poems for this melody were written by Dan Vogelberg [6] ).
- "Mother Earth (Anthem to Nature)" by Neil Young ,
- " Song of the Earth " by Michael Jackson [7]
- The Anthem of Earth Hour by Andrew Huang.
- “Anthem of the Earth” by Abhay Kumar [8] [9] .
- “Earth Day Anthem” to the words of William Wallace (and sometimes with original poems by Barbara George), which is widely performed on the tune of “ Odes of Joy ” by Ludwig van Beethoven in honor of Earth Day [10] [11] [12] .
