The water tower on Borodin Street is one of the oldest hydraulic structures in Izhevsk . It is a monument of industrial architecture and an object of cultural heritage of the Udmurt Republic [1] [2] .

The tower is located on the site near the central square of Izhevsk between the museum. M.T. Kalashnikov and the Park Inn hotel .
History
The tower on Borodin Street was built in 1915 while trying to create the Izhevsk water supply. For 40 years, the tower, by permission of the authorities, has been used for training climbers . In 2008, the tower was recognized as an emergency, and training was stopped. In 2011, the tower was transferred to the balance of the search and rescue service of Izhevsk [1] . In 2014, the Water Museum was organized in the tower [3] . In 2017, the tower was transferred to the Office of Youth Affairs of the Izhevsk administration [4] .
The older water tower was located on the territory of the arms factory near the main building (now the territory of the Izhstal plant) [5] .
