The first three heavy guards mortar divisions (TGMD) were formed according to the order No. 00244 of the SVGC of spacecraft of November 26, 1942. The divisions included separate guards mortar divisions (ogmdn), separate guards mortar regiments (GMF) and heavy guards mortar brigades (TGMBr). But since the brigades were armed with M-30 frames, and the regiments were M-13 , the regiments were soon replaced by "heavy" brigades. And in the future, the composition of the divisions during the war changed several times. 4 The GMI was formed on December 28, 1942. On January 15, 1943, the Order of the Noncommercial Organization of the USSR No. 007 and the Decree of GOKO No. 2748ss “On the Formation of the 5, 6, 7, 8 GMD until April 15, 1943” are issued. But 8 HMD was not formed due to the lack of technology and personnel.
