Markovsky, Ivan

Ivan Markovsky ( Bulgarian. Ivan Markovsky , born August 18, 1935 ) is a Bulgarian hockey player who played as a defender. Known for speaking for the Sofia club "Academician", which in 1952 became the bronze medalist of the Bulgarian Championship [1] . As part of the Bulgarian team - a participant in the 1976 Winter Olympics, held 5 games at the Olympics in the group stage (Bulgaria lost all of them). In matches against Romania (4: 9) and Japan (5: 7) he earned one two-minute removal (4 minutes of a penalty) [2] . Member of the world championships in group B in 1976 and in group C in 1977, 1978 and 1979. It is considered the oldest participant in the Winter Olympic Games from Bulgaria: at the time of the last match against Japan, held on February 13, 1976, he was 40 years old and 170 days [3] .
