Born on February 26, 1959 in Leningrad [3] .
In 1976 he graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 30 of Leningrad [4] .
In 1982 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Physics of Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanov with a degree in physics [3] [5] . He studied on the same course with Archpriest K.V. Kopeikin [6] . During his studies in his second year, he began working in the laboratory of interference spectroscopy under the guidance of A. M. Shukhtin , V. Rudakova and A. V. Lyaptseva [3] [7] . Here, his mentor was V. G. Mishakov [3] , with whom they later had a strong friendship [8] .
In 1982-1986, he was a senior laboratory assistant at the Physics Department of Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanov [9] .
In 1986-1989, he was a junior researcher at the Research Institute of Physics at Leningrad State University named after A. A. Zhdanov [9] .
In 1989, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of physical and mathematical sciences on the topic "Transitions between excited levels of helium and cadmium atoms in collisions with electrons" (specialty 01.04.05 - optics ) [10] .
Since 1989 - assistant, senior lecturer and associate professor of the Department of General Physics, St. Petersburg State University [9] . He gives lecture courses in such subjects as “ Atomic Spectroscopy ”, “Introduction to Plasma Physics ”, “ Wave Optics ”, “ Quantum Theory of Atomic Spectra”, “ Classical and Relativistic Mechanics ”, “Concepts of Modern Natural Science” and “ Electrodynamics ” [9 ] .
In 2000-2011 - Dean of the Faculty of Physics, St. Petersburg State University [3] [9] .
Since 2010, he has been the coordinator of the educational program “Applied Mathematics and Physics” at the Physics Department of St. Petersburg State University [3] [9] .
Since 2011 - Vice-Rector for Innovation at Pskov State University [11] . He is also an adviser to the administration of Pskov State University [3] [9] .
In 2014, at the ITMO University, he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences on the topic "Methods and Automation Tools for the Development of Electronic Educational Resources for the Variable Study of Physics" (specialty 05.13.06 - Automation and Control of Technological Processes and Production (education)).
